You Can't Get AIDS From a Handshake
Jack Allison is the best-known singer/composer of "music with a message" in Malawi. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in that Central African country in 1966-68 when he produced UFA WA MTEDZA, arguably the most popular song ever recorded in Chichewa and played repeatedly on Radio Malawi.
In 1994, he was invited to return to Malawi to spearhead an AIDS Education Prevention Programme, sponsored by Project HOPE, with support from USAID, Peace Corps, FHI, PSI and Friends of Malawi.
